Looks From Books: Game of Thrones Part 2
Looks from books is a semi-regular feature at The Fake Steph Dot Com where I explore book inspired fashion. I've recently become obsessed with A Song of Fire and Ice by George R. R. Martin. Two weeks ago I put together a look for Jon Snow and on Thursday I reviewed book one: A Game of Thrones.
This week I put together a modern look for Jon's younger half sister (well, we'll see how it all plays out), Arya Stark. She's high born, so I included a couple of nice pieces (like expensive leather leggings and that fur vest), but she is a bit of a tom boy who is always in trouble so no frilly dresses. But I did stick to the colors of winter, because she is a Stark (and winter is coming).
Arya would love the rugged boots and the thermal white shirt fits her no-nonsense style. The jewelry is a nod to her sword, needle, and the bag to her wolf, Nymeria. This look is really for the first book, because her story goes a little crazy after that. But, she is probably the character I would most want to hang out with in real life.

OMG -- love this. I can picture her wearing it. Love the references to Needle and Nymeria.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to tell me what happens to her as you keep reading. Though I have this feeling that everyone in this series ends up with a terrible fate.
I really want to read these books! I love the bag!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is the jacket without sleeves. Or is a vest? Anyway, it's really cool and I love this idea. I'm glad that you started it :D
