Dewey's 24 Hour Readatahon

I'm at Kim's house with Kate and Katie, about to embark on another 24 hours of reading.  I've got my coffee and my toaster strudel and we'll see how long I make it.  I'll update this post until it gets obnoxiously long... potentially all day, but mostly because I'm too lazy to get another readathon picture for the top.

BOOKS READ
Dear Teen Me - 169 pages read (189 pages total)
Let Heaven Fall by Rebecca Coleman - 351 pages
Current: Zom-B by Darren Shan

HOUR ONE
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
-Virginia.

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
-I'm really hoping to get to Crusher, but I want to get through all my blog tour commitments first.  I'm excited for every book in my pile.

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
-Kim makes amazing brownies, but we also have some spinach artichoke dip and blue corn chips that I'm psyched for.

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I'm awesome!

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
I'm going to focus more on reading.  October has been busy and November will be, too, so I really want to get ahead today.  I love the mini challenges, but I'm going to do less of them and blog less, so that I can focus on reading.

HOUR TWO
This hour we're doing cover recreations.  I've been wanting to try these for a while, but here is my quick attempt at Heist Society.  I've been wanting to reread it for a long time and it is a perfect readathon book, even though I'm not sure I'll get to it.

So... No, I don't have bangs and I'm in my pjs, but I always have sunglasses and at least half a smile.  Something to note... either my sunglasses were too big or my nose was to small, but getting my eyes to show without majorly tilting down my head was nearly impossible.

HOUR THREE
So... we're big on snacks here.  Each of the four of us brought some stuff with us, so we have an... assortment.  And we always have leftovers.  I think Kim still has stuff in her fridge from our last readathon.

Sooo... potato chips and french onion dip, blue corn chips and spinach and artichoke dip or hummus, Twizzlers  starbursts, homemade Oreo brownies, coffee, soda (there are several dozen cans in the fridge... it's terrifying), chocolate covered almonds.

And we totally have grapes in the fridge, yo!

HOUR SEVEN
Acrostic poem using the book title.  Forgive my lack of poetic skill.

Hell,
Every
Age,
Vanity
Every
Night

Some
Hate
Old-age,
Under
Lilac
Dusk

Forever,
always
longing
light.

Mid Event Meme
1) How are you doing? Sleepy? Are your eyes tired?
-SO TIRED.  Overdosing on Diet Mt. Dew.

2) What have you finished reading?

-Only Dear Teen Me.  I'm a slow reader and we've been talking a lot.

3) What is your favorite read so far?

-Dear Teen Me made me laugh a lot, but I'm really enjoying Heaven Should Fall as well.

4) What about your favorite snacks?

-Kim's Oreo brownies were amazing.

5) Have you found any new blogs through the readathon? If so, give them some love!

-Nope.  Sorry.  I'm trying to be productive.

HOUR NINETEEN
I'm hanging out with Kate as she hosts her book sentence challenge.  Here is my sentence, which I'm too tired to take a picture of:

Dear Teen Me,

Heaven Should Fall
Supernaturally.

I've read about ten pages in the last hour, which means it is probably time to call it quits.  I'm drinking a cup of pre-sleep coffee, but I'll be back in the morning to add my end of event meme and possibly make another couple sleep deprived jokes.

  5. Love your cover recreation! :D

I need to blog less this time around, too. I have 2 1/2 books I need to have read by the end of this week so this readathon came at the right time!

Good luck and have fun today! And try not to eat too much! :D

  11. Okay, so next year, we need to remind each other to have all our review books wrapped up before the readathon, or make sure we can wait until after the readathon to read them. That way we can get more reading done! We still did good, though! :D
