Story time. This is point that I started using the phrase "my life is a sitcom". When I lived in LA, I didn't have a TV. Even now, when I own a TV, I usually stream Netflix on my computer if I watch anything. But people freak out when they find out how much TV I don't watch (most of the time. Thanks to Midnyte Reader, I'm currently addicted to Supernatural and there are quite a few seasons to get through).
So my boss is horrified that I don't own a TV and gives me this old one that she has lying around, because she is awesome and that is the kind of person she is. It was top of the line when she bought it, but by this point it's old, so it's HUGE and easily 100 pounds. I had just moved into a house and didn't really know the other people living there, so I didn't feel comfortable asking anybody for help carrying this thing in (because I'm an idiot).

| I am totally signing POD right now. |
When I get out of the shower (dude, there were ants ON me), I go to set up the TV. And realize it is a computer monitor.
This is the kind of story that I think needs witnesses. But, tell me, is it a had-to-be-there kind of story?
BLOG TOURS
FRIDAY AUGUST 24 - Interview with Sara Walsh for The Dark Light Tour. Sexy, sexy cover. It sounds fantastic. And Sara has shared a picture of her writing space that I'm super excited to share with you, because I'm totally nosy about things like that and, I mean, awesome, right? Plus, Sara is providing a signed copy of the book to give away!
MONDAY AUGUST 27 - Author Are Rockstars hosted by Fiktshun and Two Chicks On Books. I'M INTERVIEWING SARA ZARR. GUYS SERIOUSLY. It didn't feel real until she sent me her answers, but I'm psyched. I'll let you know exactly why she is my rock star and share the interview with you.

omg. that story. I don't even. a computer monitor?? also, ew ants ew. I think you can tell it, because it doesn't sound like a you had to be there type of story...
ReplyDeleteLOL! No, you don't have to be there. That's hilarious...well, not that it probably was at the time but, yeah. How exciting that you get to interview Sara Zarr! She's a favorite author of mine!
ReplyDeleteComputer monitor! Lol, this is too funny (for me more than for you I'm sure).
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's because I know you, but I could totally picture you lying on top of an ant hill with a computer monitor sitting on top of you! It's super funny, now... probably not at the moment it happened to you though. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's one of those stories that seems horrible at the time but later you can tell it at dinner and make people snort water out their nose.
ReplyDeleteLOVE Sara Zarr so I am so excited about your interview. I did one today -- come say hi if you have a chance ;)
Awesome Tours coming up!
ReplyDeleteAlso I think I have to go shower now. I have an irrational fear of ants.. still shuddering (my fear is totally my mom's fault as she is terrified of them..) I would have been freaking out big time. I am laughing at you getting the tv in there only to realize that it's a computer monitor though!
I don't watch tv either, well except for shows based off of books it seems (True Blood, Game of Thrones and Vampire Diaries..lol)
I love your story! It's hilarious! My moms tv broke recently and I had a spare old tv in my closet that worked great and so I didn't want to get rid of it just in case, so I gave it to my mom. But when I had to carry that thing out to my car and then into her house I could have died it was so heavy! I told my mom she could keep the old tv even if she fixed her own because I never wanted to have to carry that thing again! But then again, I never fell on an ant hill...so your story wins!
ReplyDeleteI think your story is hilarious whether you I was there or not! That really sucks that it turned out to be a computer monitor, though!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering, how have you gotten on these blog tours? Do you simply follow blogs that host them, or did you give your info to publishers or something? I really haven't done much in the way of this stuff yet, but I'm thinking about trying to do more blog tours. But I really don't know how to do it!
P.S. I just realized I STILL haven't sent you that video. I'm SO SORRY!!! When my husband gets home I will put him on it right away so that you and Kate and Kim can watch it at your readathon this weekend! ;)
