Top Ten (Tusday) Readalikes

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish that combines lists and books.  This weeks topic is... Readalikes.  Actually, it's for people who like X book and I'm probably going to go with tone more than actual story elements.  As always, covers link to GoodReads.

If you love Deadly Cool...

Hartley makes me laugh.  She's awkward and ridiculous and gets herself in... situations.  So do these heroines:

...and this last one is way more serious and kind of intense, but the main character... she has attitude and I think Hartley would love her...

I worry that all my lists always have the same books... what do you think?

  1. Great list, Steph. I also thought HEX HALL was a riot! As well as The GHOST AND THE GOTH :-) I liked Heist Society too but sadly not enough to pick up the second book. I have heard really great things about CODE NAME VERITY. Guess I have to read that one. My to-read list is getting waaaay too long, LOL!

    1. I read Code Name Verity earlier this month. It was a challenge to get through -- the narration and story framework are not conventional, but it the characters captivated me. There are parts of it I had to re-read to be sure I knew what was happening. Overall, it's one of those books that leaves quite an impression and is worth it to work through.

  2. Guess who hasn't read a single book on this list yet? *points to self* This girl. But they're all (or most anyway) on my TBR-soon list. ; )

I have to admit, after reading the synopses for several of them, I would not have guessed The Name of the Star would be related. Sounds really dark and creepy whereas the others have a more fun appeal to them? I dunno. But I'm interested to read them all. And I must read Deadly Cool for these... situations. ; )

  3. I haven't read Deadly Cool, but I loved Heist Society so maybe I'll have to check it out! Also, I love the cover for Withering Tights :) Oh and I also always worry about my lists having the same books on them all the time!

  5. I don't think all of your lists are the same, and, even if some do keep coming back, that's just because they're awesome and you want us to read them. I'm not bothered!

I've only read One for the Money and Code Name Verity. I feel like a slacker!

  12. I don't think all your lists are the same, but I get why you think that way because I feel that way about all my lists (though maybe mine are all the same so that could be why). Of the books I've read, this list is spot on. I can't wait for another Deadly Cool book. Hartley is so much fun!
