Sundays In Bed With... I'm not going to forget a title this week!

Sundays in bed with is hosted by Kate at Midnight Book Girl and lets us highlight which books we are or wish we were in bed with on Sunday mornings.  This week, I'm in bed with Shadow Kiss, the third Vampire Academy novel.
Me failing at recreating the face from the cover.  Also... that's a feature I want to start... recreating covers.  Does anybody do that????
Want to know what I'm thinking as I read?  Well, check out the #vladass hashtag on twitter, where you also might witness some people *claiming* that my boy Adrian is with them.  He's mine, ladies.  There is also some intense debate about Dmitri... but all you really need to know about him is that he wears a DUSTER.  I'm not kidding.

And in case you were wondering, today is day 9 of Fast Draft, a class that makes you produce a novel in 2 weeks.  It's why I haven't been around as much in comments (sorry), but I'm glad to report that I've hit my goal every single day so far.  It is an epically terrible novel with both a love triangle and a cliff-hanger ending (oh and a long-winded villain monologue!), but them's the breaks sometimes.  In other news, my brain is mashed potatoes.

  1. I am so NOT getting in the middle of the whole Adrian/Dimitri thing. Christian is my favorite anyway. You girls can fight it out and I'll watch from the sidelines.

Love the cover recreation. You need to scowl a little more, but you're almost there :)

PS Wait til you get to the end of Shadow Kiss!!!!

  2. Mmmm, mashed potatoes. Excuse my Simpsons reference...it sorta made me sound like a zombie...K, now I'm wondering what state my brain is in.

Enjoy Shadow Kiss and, no, I don't think anyone does the cover recreation. You should totally do that!

  4. Adrian <3 Oh, how I love him. And in the Bloodlines series especially (holy swoonsville) - he just keeps on getting more epic, and in the Golden Lily he was just amazeballs. He is flawless!

  5. Glad that Fast Draft is going well and you're meeting your goals! There is something about just cranking out a shitty first draft and allowing it. And often I find that even if I thought it was bad while I write it... there's some gems in there too and often it's not quite as bad as I thought when I look back months later!

  6. Recreating covers would be so much fun to do! Although I don't know if I'd be very good at it. Great job on Fast Draft! Keep it up--you can do it! ;)

  7. Yummm... I love mashed potatoes, and if that's indeed what brains taste like, than maybe I won't fight so hard during the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

And I think you did good with the cover look, maybe your head was too straight on and not tilted enough, but you do kind of look like her. And I'm still bummed that we never did any of the cover shoots that we talked about in New York.. oh, well, next year we'll prepare in advance. Pick the covers, locations, and times.
