ALICE
I chose to create an outfit inspired by Alice's "date" scene. Tiernan helps her pick out a black tank dress (and it took my forever to find one I liked) and Summer twists her hair up. Then she does just a little bit of makeup (the strawberry-flavored lip gloss is more than usual!) and adds some gold earrings. I think Alice would like the geometric design of these earrings and she's not really a fancy footwear kind of girl.

TIERNAN
I can't describe Tiernan any better than how her style is described in the book (ch. 3): It was one part wacky (vintage Kermit the Frog T-shirt), one part sexy (short skirt, fishnet tights), and one part dangerous (knee-high Doc Martens boots). I couldn't find a Kermit tee, but I think the smiley face gets it done. Then there are her army surplus backpack, skateboard, and blue hair dye. The post-it note is for telling her mom she's hitting the road and I thought the cuff fit her style well and what girl doesn't like to wear jewelry?
SUMMER
You do not understand how many yellow tanks I had to go through to find one I liked. There are some seriously ugly yellow tanks out there. But I did find one, although I'm still not sure it fits with Summer's khaki shorts. She's described as wearing floral perfume, so I added that, and since she is kind of girly, I gave her some cute flip flops and feminine jewelry. Obviously, her phone is very important to her so a wristlet just for that finishes the look.
These girls have very different styles. Which girl is more "you"?

Love this post. I'm definitely more a Summer in dress wise but I'm not 100% girly you know? I STILL haven't read this one - must get myself to a bookstore library ASAP-o!
ReplyDeleteYour looks are always so cute! But none of these looks are really me (though I do love the smiley face shirt).
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this book but, as always, I love the outfits. I only WISH I was bold enough to dress Tiernan. It's not so flattering at my age, though. ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat outfits and I'll definitely check out the book; thanks for sharing :) I just found your blog and will definitely be following from now on! A few days ago I added some summer reading lists to my new blog if you want to take a look: http://heartisinthewriteplace.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThanks again!
I LOVE your outfit posts and ... how did I miss your review of Reunited? I want to read that book. Going to find that now....
ReplyDeleteLove Alice's hair and Summer's flip flops!
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't tell you how much I love this feature, despite the fact that I don't always know the characters/books you choose.
