Weekend Hops

Birthday Wishes — Blow out the candles and imagine what character could pop out of your cake…who is it and what book are they from??
This is so hard!  However, after much consideration, I am going with Dave the Laugh  from the Confessions of Georgia Nicholson Series, becuase he makes me laugh.  Seriously, most important thing ever if you're going to hang out with a fictional character.

Do you have a keeper shelf for books you loved? What books are on that shelf and why?
I am a book hoarder, so I have shelves and stacks of books all over.  However, I also have a special stack next to my bed of my favorite books.  This is what's on it (covers link to goodreads):

All of these books are on that shelf because I saw myself in their pages.  They are the kind of books that feel like they were written just for me: my soul on paper.

My shelves actually look completely unorganized... but they aren't.  I also have special places for my favorite series and all of my guilty pleasure paperbacks (Janet Evanovich, Harlan Coben, etc.)  I seriously love books and love owning books and love looking at them and remembering reading them.  I have different groups of books everywhere and my organization totally makes sense!

  5. I have read all the books on your keeper shelf except the last two! Even though I have heard nothing but good things about Scorpio Races, I still find myself to being a little hesitant.

Dave the Laugh is so you, but I would rather have the Stiff Dylans at my birthday party!

  14. I have not read any of the Georgia Nicholson series and this is like the fourth or fifth time this week that I've seen one of the books on some kind of list or post (two were yours). I think it's a sign that I need to read them!

Your book organization would probably drive me crazy, but if works for you it's all good!

  15. I keep my favorite books close too, and I have my go to.comfort reads handy too. My books are organized in much the same way (except the color coded ones), and it does drive Kim crazy.

  17. Also a book hoarder, though not as bad as I used to be. My shelves start organized then gradually deteriorate into randomness, only to be organized again.

Its great when you find a book that you really connect to, isn't it? Gives special meaning to the stories.

  18. I've always seen those books and liked the fonts/designs of them, but haven't read them - thinking i should if he's funny! And I have a favourites stack too, i keep them out in my living room. TFiOS is definitely a part of it, and Scorpio Races would be but I'm always lending it out and shoving it into friends' hands demanding they read it haha.

  20. I'm going to have to read the Georgia Nicholson books soon, since you and Bittner love them so much!

My books are in alphabetical order, but I have one shelf of special books, which is just the Harry Potter books and the Hunger Games books. I've thought about organizing them into books I've read and those I haven't read, like Bittner does, but I'm still not sure about it. I'm with Kim - your organization would probably drive me crazy but to each his own! ;)
