Midnight Book Girl. This week I am not in bed, but stuck on a bus. As you may have noticed, I spent this last week at Book Expo America and I have already dived in to one of my most anticipated books of the year:
Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger.

Keeper is a middle grade fantasy with universal appeal and it is SO GOOD. It comes out in October and I am already dying, because I have no idea how I'm going to be able to wait until September to review it. I want you all to read it now. Seriously, I am loving it. I actually finished it very, very early on Sunday morning, in a stairwell and not in bed, but it still counts, because I have no idea what I will be reading on the bus.

ReplyDeleteKeeper does sound really good! And I'm with you - it's so hard when you get a book really early, because you want to read it RIGHT AWAY but then you can't post your review until a couple of weeks or a month before it releases! Hmm, maybe you can write your review and save it as a draft, and then just wait to publish it. Or you could re-read it in September! ;)

ReplyDeleteI started following Shannon's blog a couple of years ago and just watching her journey to publication was very cool. I was excited to meet her at BEA and congratulate her. I didn't manage to get a copy of the book, but I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it! Can't wait to read it when it comes out!

ReplyDeleteI love this picture and you are making me think that I should read this book before I give it to you. But then I remember that I have a ton of other books so, I probably won't. :) When will we be seeing you?
ReplyDeleteReading in a stairwell? Interesting. I am pretty sure I can honestly say that I have never done that one! But I just hope you were sitting in the stairwell and not trying to climb the steps while reading because that could have been very dangerous!
