I finally finished Insurgent and I have to think about it before I review it. For now... looks from books.
Tris, aka Beatrice Prior--She's Dauntless, so combat pants, a tank, and combat books seem appropriate. I added the fingerless gloves because they seem tough. The earrings and the ring are birds, because of Tris's tattoos and also because birds pop up a lot in her dreams and fear landscapes.
Finally, some allusions to other factions. The grey sweater because in Insurgent Tris has one of her father's grey abnegation sweaters. The blue in the boots for her erudite aptitude. And the red in the chain, because even though Tris doesn't have the aptitude for it, she does come to understand the amity.

Four, aka Tobias Eaton -- Four is divergent, but he feels very committed to Dauntless to me. I would say that he and Tris are at opposite ends of the Divergent spectrum. His biggest strength (when it comes to divergence) is trusting Tris. He gets all black and some studs, because he needs to look tough and I didn't think that guns were appropriate for my blog.
Caleb Prior -- Tris's brother, he transferred from Abnegation to Erudite. The Erudite wear all blue and even though I put him in jeans, I gave him nice shoes with a button up and a tie. Because he's just that kind of guy. Also notice... two pairs of glasses. I gave him a spare in case a dauntless decides to break one (by punching him in the face). No matter what is happening with the factions, Caleb really has discovered his identity in the erudite faction. He's smart and interested in the world around him.

Steph, I totally, totally, totally LOVE these looks! They are perfect <3 I have to say, I get very excited when a new "Looks From Books" pops up :) Have fun writing a review for Insurgent! I decided to opt out on that one. It's too much for me to condense and I loved it far too much to try and write a review that doesn't just go off on a gushing rant.
ReplyDeleteOLIVIA! Thank you! So good to meet you. Insurgent will be one of the hardest reviews I write this year, I think.
DeleteThis is such a cute feature. I love the looks you picked out!
ReplyDeleteThanks! And I loved meeting you last week!
DeleteI don't even like this series but, as always, I love looking at the outfits you come up with!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHave I told you before that I love this feature? I think it's so much fun! I think I'm the only one in the world to not have read Divergent/Insurgent yet (i know, i know - i will soon!) so I can't say if this is how I picture them -- but I do want to say that based on these, I think I would date Caleb in real life. That is totally a style I fall for haha.
ReplyDeleteCaleb is very smart and I love Four, but he's pretty serious and intense. :) These books are a ton of fun! Love them.
DeleteThis is a fabulous feature. I haven't read any of these books yet, but when I do I will know what they are wearing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I hve so much fun! And it was SOOOO good meeting you!
DeleteI love these looks! Especially the bird ring and all of Caleb's outfit! But I'm not sure if it's my computer or a glitch or whatever, but I couldn't read all of your writing - it was like it went past the little hash marks on the right... :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for pointing it out. I think that's my fault. I'll format it a different way next time. :)
DeleteDUDE. You ALWAYS pick the most PERFECT outfits for characters. Like totally spot-on! :D
ReplyDelete-heather
Thanks! I have SO MUCH fun with this feature.
DeleteI LOVE these posts so much --- and I agree that you are so good at this.
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't there a job called "Fictional Character Fashion Stylist?????"
I want that job! Think it would pay enough for me to live in Chelsea? :)
DeleteWhat a cute idea for a post!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteLOVE these collections!!! I especially love the jewelry you found for Tris.
ReplyDeleteI kinda want to do this for the characters in my own writing now! I bet it would be fun and give you more insight into their personality.
Love these posts!
Lauren @ Hughes Reviews
DO IT! I would LOVE to see what you come up with!
DeleteI love the gold ring in the first look but my favorite look is the last one! Sexy! That is my kind of guy! If there are characters dressed like that running around in that book I might actually have to read it! Although, I like my guys with the skinny ties! I don't know why I find that hot but I do!
