Looks From Books: The Sisters Grimm

Lots of creative license in this one as I explore three of my favorite characters from one of my favorite middle grade series: The Sisters Grimm by Michael Buckley.  The last book in the series just came out and I am reading through all of the books before I finish.

This look, inspired by Sabrina Grimm, is incredibly ugly.  The purple sweater and ugly jeans are inspired by the ridiculous clothes Mr. Canis buys her in the first book.  It's funny, because he has no idea he has bought her such a hideous outfit.  In the second book, she gets Puck's horrible goo in her hair, so she is desperately in need of shampoo, detangler and a brush.  The cap is to hide her hair and the key necklace represents all the keys Sabrina steals from Granny Relda.  The sneakers and the backpack are the only items on here that I think she would actually like.  Poor Sabrina.

Puck is one of my all time favorite characters.  The trickster king is a gross boy who always wears a dirty green sweatshirt and old jeans.  I think he would really love this t-shirt, because Puck is a bit of an egotist and subtlety has never been his strong point.  The wings are just cool.  I wish I could fly.

This last look is for Relda Grimm.  I actually love this look.  I couldn't pull it off, but I think that Granny Relda would love the bright colors.  She's got a big handbag to keep her many keys in and a shawl for when she gets cold.  The lipstick is because I've always seen her as coral lipstick kind of woman. I also see her as the kind of woman who would wear gorgeous bangles, but she would probably end up leaving them on her dresser as she rushed out to solve a mystery.
