Audiobook Sample: Cinder by Marissa Meyer

You may have seen that I loved Cinder by Marissa Meyer.  I even did a post where I created looks for several of the characters (Looks From Books: Cinder Inspired Fashion).

This is an excerpt from the Cinder audiobook goodreads page that perfectly describes it: A wicked mash-up of fairy tale and Terminator—set in a Star Wars kind of world—Marissa Meyer's Cinder is a fresh and fiercely ingenious futuristic retelling of Cinderella.

Macmillan Audio shared this clip with me so that you can listen to a sample of the audiobook.

I love the beginning of this book.  I love meeting Cinder and I love learning about New Beijing.  My favorite line is the one about the too small foot... it's such a typical girl thing to say, but so specific to Cinder as a cyborg.  What do you guys think?

  1. I've tried, really tried, to get into audio books but I just can't handle them. :( Mainly cause I can read so much faster. ;)

  3. I've never actually tried audio books but I'm still afraid I wouldn't be able to get into them, just like Jenny :(

    1. It's a very different experience, but I really love them. I listen to audiobooks on my commute in the morning and it makes Northern Virginia traffic bearable!

  4. I've only ever listened to one audiobook - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - and I didn't even listen to all of it. I really don't have a chance to listen to them, because I am a stay-at-home mom and I'm not really in the car for long stretches of time. But I'd like to try some someday!
