TAGGED

I usually don't do this stuff, but it is fun.  So, this once, I am going to participate.  Give me a moment of nostalgia while I fondly remember Live Journal and Myspace.  These questions are from Kate at Midnight Book Girl.

1. What song would you pick for the soundtrack of the book you're currently reading?
I have no idea.  I'm reading Starters and it is very bleak and futuristic.  Maybe "Love 2012" by 3oh!3 or a few songs by Shiny Toy Guns: Don't Cry Out, We Are Pilots, Ritz, and Rocketship.  They've definitely got the sound and 3oh!3 may be a little too upbeat for this book.

2. What drink do you order most at Starbucks?
Regular coffee.  And a macaroon.

3. What literary character would you kiss, which one would you marry and which one would you push off a cliff?
Ohhhhh..... Marry Dave the Laugh, Kiss Marcus Flutie, Push Umbridge off a cliff.  The hardest part was deciding between Marcus and Ranger.

4. Forget Zombies vs. Unicorns.  Are you Team Robots or Team Mermaid?
Mermaids... they seem magical and regal.  Robots seem grittier and a different kind of scary.  Not that I'm particularly fond of either.  I'm afraid of both being electrocuted and drowning, so I'm SOL on both of these.

5.  What's the last movie you saw in the theater?
One for the Money.  Biggest. Disappointment. Ever.

6.  If they were to make a movie out of your life, who would you want play your love interest?
Chris Pine.  Or James Dean Morgan.  Or Zac Efron.

7.  If you could kidnap an author, which one would it be and what book would you have them write and/or re-write?
I would think about kidnapping John Green, but I think he would become so neurotic upon being kidnapped that he wouldn't be able to write and it would actually take longer for him to write his next book and cost more to keep him fed than to buy the book.

8. How many books are in your TBR pile?
Hahahahaha.  Over 150 when I stopped counting.

9. What's the worst job you've ever had?
Hotel housekeeping.  I handed in my two weeks notice after one week and only because a bunch of others had already quit with no notice, so I didn't think it was fair for me to do so as well.

10.  I want to paint an accent wall in my bedroom Peacock Blue, what color would you recommend for the other 3 walls? :)
A warm, creamy brown (light though... almost a dark cream).  Avoid a color that is going to compete with the blue, but bring other colors in through pillows, picture frames, etc.

11.  What is your favorite board game?
Loaded Questions.  It is awesome.

I'm not going to tag anybody, but here are my questions if you want to play:
1. What are your three favorite literary couples?
2. Pick two authors you'd love to see team up to write a book together.
3. What is the most memorable conversation you've had with a stranger about a book?
4. Why did you start book blogging?
5. Who has the best coffee... Starbucks, Caribou Coffee, Dunkin Donuts, or WaWa?
6. What is your least favorite book and why?
7. You have to permanently break up one of the couples from question one.  Who do you choose?
8. Recommend a book for me.
9. What is something from a futuristic novel that you are hopeful will one day exist in real life?
10. Kill, Marry, Makeout: Ranger, Morelli, Deisel (did I spell his name right?  guess you know where he is on my list).

  1. First of all; LOVE Zac Afron! I may not do High School Musical but I can go all Hairspray like nobodies business! Second; please tell me that 150 is not the number of books you own but haven't read yet! But instead just the number on like your goodreads shelf!

Third; What the hell! Your questions are like, way hard! I can't break anybody up, that's cruel!

I'm going to have to think a few of those...

  2. 1. What are your three favorite literary couples? Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, Benedict and Beatrice, and Remus and Tonks.

    2. Pick two authors you'd love to see team up to write a book together. Stephen King and J.K. Rowling.

    3. What is the most memorable conversation you've had with a stranger about a book? In line for the last HP book, I got in a very long conversation with a couple of older women about Twilight, because the one woman was explaining it to her friend but doing a bad job, so I just had to jump in and add my two cents. The other woman ended up buying Twilight that night. :)

    4. Why did you start book blogging? I had recently moved to VA and I was actually pretty lonely. I had come across Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon site by accident before the move and decided that I would start a blog so that I could participate.

    5. Who has the best coffee... Starbucks, Caribou Coffee, Dunkin Donuts, or WaWa? I rarely ordered just coffee, but I buy Dunkin Donuts on occasion, and I don't like Starbucks plan coffee. So D & D.

    6. What is your least favorite book and why? Need by Carrie Jones- the beginning is such a blatant rip off of Twilight it's not even funny. The writing was ridiculous, the message preachy (it felt like the novel was sponsored by Amnesty International, and it was just bad. The cover is pretty, but I'm always surprised when people say they liked it.

    7. You have to permanently break up one of the couples from question one. Who do you choose? Ouch. Um, Benedict and Beatrice. You're kind of mean.

    8. Recommend a book for me. A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin- I'm really loving this series and fantasy is usually my thing.

    9. What is something from a futuristic novel that you are hopeful will one day exist in real life? Hopefully we'll have zombies. So many books promise them, but so far the only people I've had to hit over the head with a shovel on my evening walks in the cemetery have been trespassing teenagers.

    10. Kill, Marry, Makeout: Ranger, Morelli, Deisel (did I spell his name right? guess you know where he is on my list). Kill Deisel, I just don't care for him too much, Marry Morelli (oh how I wish Stephanie would) and Makeout with Ranger (which Stephanie does do on occasion).

Great questions, Steph, see ya later today!

    1. Not going to lie. I decided I liked you when you said Dunkin Donuts for coffee. That is the correct answer. So good meeting you today!

  3. HAHAHA Umbridge getting pushed off a cliff made me laugh!

That's a shame 'One for the Money' was no good. It had so much potential. I love the Stephanie Plum books.

And I'd TOTALLY pick Chris Pine for my love interest too!!! Soooooo hot. They're filming the Star Trek sequel now! Woot!

  4. I can't believe I didn't think of Umbridge for that answer! I guess I had Lissa from Shut Out on my mind (and Courtney did too!) since I just read it.

I'm going to have to re-read Sloppy Firsts because I read it at a time when I didn't love YA like I do now, and I really didn't think it was great, but so many other book bloggers love that series!

I still want to see One For the Money but I'm definitely waiting until it goes on Netflix. I'm not a fan of Katherine Heigl and I've only read 2 of the Stephanie Plum books, but my friend Holly gave me a whole bunch of them a few months ago so I'm planning on reading them all eventually!

    Great answers! ;)

  5. Really? One for the Money was a bigger disappointment than Percy Jackson?

Also, I would totally push Umbridge off a cliff. And then throw a grenade down there with her just to make sure the job is done. (I'm listening to Order of the Phoenix in my car right now.)
